I had purchased a matching numbers 1966 Tripower, 4 speed GTO back in 1980. It had  provided some fun times in the early 80’s, but by 1987 in had become a derelict and continued to decay, as it sat in various driveways, up until 2005.

I had several Pontiacs worked on by Florida Pontiac in the past, but this was not just any other Pontiac, it was my first Pontiac, and I wanted to a nut and bolt body off restoration.

My goal was to exceed the quality and detail of some of the better known restoration shops such as J&J or Supercar Specialties. Neither of which I could afford on a working man’s salary.

I had saved my $$, and was excited about making this investment and facilitating the effort through Florida Pontiac. .  I discussed the goal with Steve, set the parameters, and we were off and running.

In October 2005, I had the car towed to the shop, and over the next 3 weeks I delivered the various new, nos, and used parts that I had collected. I stuck to doing what I do best, which is finding parts, and setting the goal. Florida Pontiac did the rest.

I took delivery of the finished car in March 2006, and I was most pleased. This restoration went very smooth.  It was exciting to drive the car home after a 20 year hiatus. Since then I have taken the car to many shows, and have driven it many miles, and it always gets its tiger’s share of the compliments, and questions about who did the work.

If  it were not for Florida Pontiac, this car would probably still be sitting by the side of my house rusting to the ground.              Andre

I purchased a ’71 GTO to use as a driver. I knew what I was getting. While the car performed great, there were 2 items that needed immediate attention. The power seat would not engage, and the a/c would not turn on.

I scheduled an appointment at Florida Pontiac, and 3 days later my seat was working in both positions, and I had ice cold a/c. What is interesting to know is that they took the time to remove the inner fender to remove and replace the burnt out blower motor. The dealer maintenance manual suggests cutting an access hole. Maybe that was okay back in 1971, but certainly not tolerated in 2007.

A black Pontiac is a cool car, but with working a/c it also feels cool

I had owned my ’64 GTO post coupe for 7 years. The previous owner had done a frame off resto, but the seat skins (white) had started changing color to tan. In addition, there was large run at the edge of the hood.

Florida Pontiac removed and re-dyed the seats to white, and repaired the hood. I was so pleased that I later took the car in to have a new transmission installed, and the carb rebuilt. The work began almost as soon as I dropped the car off, and it was ready in a few days.

I returned about a year later to have some more work done.  I wanted to use a combination of factory a/c and Classic air parts to create a functional air conditioning system.  The intention was that a peek under the hood would  appear to be completely stock, but I wanted to take advantage of the efficiency of the new system. In addition, I wanted the dash, bezel, steering column repainted to the correct color for the white interior. While the car was in the shop, they took the time to realign the front fenders, and hood

All the work was done in a timely manner, and I can enjoy the car during the summer months.  I am extremely satisfied
